Cairo - As many as 54 vessels transited the Suez Canal today, with a total cargo of 2,700,000 tons.
The north-bound convoy included 21 vessels laden with 1,600,000 tons, while the south-bound convoy comprised of 33 vessels, carrying 1,100,000 tons, according to a statement by the Suez Canal Authority.
